President C. Nunley promptly called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

After an opening prayer, Nunley introduced our guest speaker,
Jerry R. Allen, unopposed candidate for Dallas City Council,
District 10.

Mr. Allen gave introductory remarks regarding the importance of
prayer in civic life and outlined high points in his personal
background that he believes qualifies him for serving on the Dallas
City Council.

He indicated he has no ambition to serve more than one term, and
he "wants to concentrate on this district." He pledged to return
to visit with our Alliance as often as we feel we need to meet
with him...his schedule permitting. For further information
about his background, he suggests visiting his website at:
electjerryallen.com.

Mr. Allen had another committment and left at 6:53.

The regular business meeting resumed with announcements.

President Nunley announced that our organization has finally been
officially recognized by the Texas Secretary of State as the DALLAS
NORTHWOOD HEIGHTS HOMEOWNERS ALLIANCE. This new name was necessary
to avoid duplication of previously named nonprofit corporations.
The new name will require changes in the bylaws which will be an item
for the next regularly scheduled meeting.

President Nunley also announced that our request for a sidewalk on the
south side of Forest from Shepherd to Stults was successful, and
the new sidewalk should be in place sometime this fall.

Secretary Madere distributed the minutes of the January meeting.

Treasurer Holmes gave the Finance committee report, asked for
members to remit their 2007 dues, and encouraged members to recruit
new members.

Communications committee chair, P. Nunley, reported a new website
host for our Alliance at pithecus.com and a new voice mail ALERT
system that is currently in beta stage of development.

After an opening prayer, everyone attending enjoyed a potluck supper
and the opportunity to visit.

Afterward, there was a short business meeting during which it was
decided to change our meetings from monthly to quarterly. It was

increase meeting participation. Meetings will on the
third Tuesday of January, April, July, and October.
